On February 9th 1906, the local press reported that a golf
club was
being formed at Bangor, North Wales, followed by an announcement on May
4th that "The Bangor
Golf Links are now in good order and will be open for play on and after
May 5th."
The original 9 holes were soon extended to 18, designed by James Braid.
W H Ball of Hoylake was the club professional, greenkeeper and club
maker. Harry Ball and his brothers Tom and Sidney, played several
exhibition matches at the club and we have a photograph of the three of
them with their father, at Bangor in 1907.

An illustrated history of St. Deiniol Golf Club has now been produced. Edited by Iolo W Williams, it provides a fascinating journey through time from the very first days of the club right up to the present day.
Copies are available from the club secretary, priced at £12 plus postage.
